Lovelies,

The baby is weaned. He was weaned right before 15 months like we’d hoped. It was mostly smooth, a few rocky days of crying and wanting his morning feed, but overall that’s pretty good. I almost gave in/up. But then, miraculously, the next day he stopped asking. The first two days of zero feeds was very uncomfortable- my breasts swelled and ached and I wanted SO BADLY to just make it stop. I wanted so badly to just nurse my child… But I persisted. It was hard but now we’re done. Also, holy hormones, Batman! I was a weepy, emotional mess for the whole first week sans breastfeeding. The post weaning hormones are no joke. If you’re going through them be gentle on yourself. It’s a big shift. It doesn’t last forever.

XOXXO,

The Chicken

There are a couple of us going through this right now. The hormones are the worst. It is super hard and emotions. Thanks for reminding me I’m not alone.
