Hey Lovelies,

I have been so busy lately and then caught a nasty cold on top of it. I apologize for not posting last week. But I do have some fun news to share with you guys! I thought October, being pregnancy and infant loss awareness month, would be the perfect time to tell you about a new journey I have started.

I am right now in class to become a doula!

Not just any doula, a stillbirthday birth and bereavement doula! I have been so blessed and distressed to have met and walked with so many fabulous couples through the infertility community and many of them have experienced losses at various stages of pregnancy. Having supported them the best I could through their losses I became really aware of the need there was for couples who are walking that path to have support. Real support. Trained support. And then I found stillbirthday.com! I have always been really drawn to all things pregnancy and birth related and so I had often thought about becoming a doula but it hadn’t really clicked for me. Until I knew that I could help couples who are going through a still birth, miscarriage or birth with a difficult fetal diagnosis and probability that baby would not be here long.

THIS. THIS IS WHAT I NEED TO DO.

And so I jumped. I signed up and started the course. I cannot wait to begin helping others through such a hard transition. This is another life-path choice that has been shaped by my infertility journey. I think this is actually pretty awesome.

XOXXO,

The Chicken
