Lovelies,
You know what helps you get better at, well, pretty much anything? Doing it a lot. The old adage “practice makes perfect” is so true! You know what I am better at because of practice? Writing… And a host of other things besides, but for the purpose of this post, writing. This blog has made me write, and write, and write, and write. For coming up on 3 years I have been writing 2 times a week in this space. I have struggled a lot with keeping up that pace but have only been unable to meet it a handful of times in the last 3 years. I don’t always have a lot of eloquent shit to say. I very often wonder if I need to just stop this space and stop forcing it so hard… but, at the very least, this space has made me into a more proficient writer. I really see myself AS a writer. Like, on some deep cosmic level. So for today, when I really have very little to say, I can at least say this- I am glad as fuck I started this space because it FORCED me to practice my craft. My spelling, grammar, storytelling, and ability to focus on a mundane task have improved considerably. So thanks, y’all, for showing up and reading! You’re being here has forced me to show up too and work!
