Hey Lovelies,

If you’ve been following me a while you’ll know that on Mondays I write a micro post. Something I learned about from Mel at Stirrup Queens. Well, I have been running fucking long with those posts lately and I call bullshit on myself right now. The micro post isn’t supposed to be more than a paragraph at most. A quick jotted musing. Mine have been getting longer and longer, so you’ll notice last Monday I didn’t do one. It isn’t because I didn’t want to…and not because I didn’t post on Monday, I did… It’s because it was too long to count! At over 600 words it was NOT a micro! I will only now label something as micro if it meets that criteria. I will always post on Mondays though so if you’ve been hopping over from Stirrup Queens weekly I’d encourage you to stop by even when I’m not on the list for that Monday. There will still be new content it will just be longer!

XOXXO,

The Chicken

I’ve noticed that most participants seem to have longer posts…I remember when Mel began these posts (and I have been participating since then but under another blog)….and everyone’s seem to grow longer and longer! Even Mel, herself, has longer posts now. 🙂 I think the whole point of MM was just to have a linkup to connect and build friendships (especially with the end of ICLW). I enjoy reading your posts whether they’re short or long!

      Raven,
Me too but I just felt like I was getting away from it and wanted to challenge myself to stick to smaller posts on Monday.

Maybe I should put that micro is the minimum. The whole point was to get people to post in their own space again. If it’s meat-y, all the better.

      Mel,
Good to add a disclaimer maybe. I am glad to be shortening up so that Monday’s posts are less time consuming and hopefully pack a good punch in less words. It’s a good writing exercise for me, I tend to be verbose.
