Hey Lovelies,

First off, I want to give a great big THANK YOU to all of you for the love and support I have received over the last few days. I am sure more than a few of you are wondering what is going to happen on this blog now that I’m pregnant. We need some new rules. Here’s the plan so far:

1. I am going to continue to post but it may or may not be twice a week/every week. It will really depend on the week and if I have anything important or interesting to write on.

2. I will try very hard to limit posts about the pregnancy itself and instead I will focus on general infertility ( I have a few started that I would still like to put out) and pregnancy after infertility in a general sense ( how is it different than a typical pregnancy).

3. I will continue to post squawk box posts until they are gone. If you have sent me one, not to worry, it will go up.

4. As I stated in my last post any time that I will talk about MY pregnancy specifically or post ANY PHOTOS related to it I will heavily label and trigger warning it. I don’t foresee much of this. But won’t promise against it at this point either.

5. I like the blog name and will be keeping it. I will change my signature to “The Chicken” instead though, as leaving it as “Unpregnant” seems like bad luck.

That’s all for now. Hopefully you’ll want to stick with me to see where this goes in the future.

XOXXO,
The Chicken

May you stay true to yourself in what you write and post. It is your blog after all. 🙂 I can’t wait to read updates and more!

I think you should post about your pregnancy! You have done a great job covering aspects of infertility, but also don’t be hesitant to write about your current situation. Your pregnancy is a wonderful thing to be celebrated, even by those who are struggling to get there themselves. You are a success story for the rest of us!

      Jade,
I likely will a bit but I don’t want this to become a pregnancy journal. I think some talk of it is obviously necessary and unavoidable. I just don’t want to make that the focus.

Sounds like a good plan, so glad you have these considerations to make in your new situation! Agree, signing “The Chicken” works. I am a sucker for possible bad luck things and get that entirely. So happy for you!

I think you should still feel free to write what you want. Most especially, I think you should feel free to complain if you’re not enjoying your pregnancy or if you’re worried or upset. I always think it’s sad if someone feels that – pregnant or parenting after infertility – they have to feel forever grateful.

      Mali,
So far the complaints aren’t bad but you are right that it is important to be honest about your pregnancy journey too as it helps others who have been through infertility and wound up pregnant.

We’re all so thrilled for you, Chicken! You definitely have earned the “right” to do as many pregnancy posts as you wish. I think I speak for a lot of us when I say we’re here for the long haul with you. You’ve seen us through some very dark times and we will see you through some very bright times! Congratulations and I can’t wait to hear more about your journey!

      Heather,
That means so much to me. You have no idea. I really hope that most of the followers will rejoice and be able to still accept my support.

I’ve been off and on following you (more off than on if I’m honest, haven’t been great at keeping up with blogs) since your guest post on the Pregnant Chicken. We dealt with IF for 13 years before we were blessed with our son and I’m always interested in others also dealing with that heartache, always praying and hoping for a happy ending for them. I just wanted to let you know I’m so incredibly happy for you and do look forward to updates during your pregnancy. And if you decide this isn’t the place for them, I hope there is another place we can find them. 🙂 Big congrats!!
